Brigette Selio

Hi, I’m Brigitte Selio. I am from Portage, Indiana located about one hour west of Mishawaka. I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!). After college, I spent two years serving as an AmeriCorps member tutoring and mentoring 6th-12th graders. Next, I attended Indiana University School of Medicine-Northwest (Go Hoosiers!). My husband, Pete, who I met right before medical school started, stuck by my side all four years and to celebrate the end of med school, we got married June 22, 2013 (in the middle of residency orientation!) Saint Joseph’s was great about helping me adjust to two big changes in my life at once.  In addition to the program’s flexibility, what attracted me most to the program…the people.  I had the opportunity to spend one month rotating with the Family Medicine Residency during April of my fourth year, and everyone from residents to support staff to nurses and attendings was great. I could not see myself feeling more comfortable and at home anywhere else.  I am excited to begin my third year in residency and continue to enjoy balancing home/work life as a new mom to my son, Joshua. My passions in medicine include women’s health and obstetrics.
