Anita Schwartz

I had the honor of graduating as the first resident from the pharmacy practice residency program at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in 2005. Upon graduation I took a position within the organization as a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist at Healthy Family Center where I also served as coordinator for the standardization of medication assistance programs. I also served as the associate director of the residency program. While in this position I was an adjunct assistant professor of pharmacy practice for both Butler and Purdue Universities precepting PharmD candidates. I also taught pharmacology to 2nd year medical students at Indiana University-Notre Dame. After this I became a pharmacy manager with Wal-Mart. In this setting I strived to advance the practice of community pharmacy using my clinical knowledge along with my practice management skills.

Shortly after moving to Lafayette with my husband and children I began as a clinical pharmacist at Saint Elizabeth Regional Health. I will assume the residency program director position prior to the incoming class of 2011/2012 residents. I take on this position with great excitement and hope to implement the knowledge gleaned from my years with the great Ed Sheridan.
